I joined UF IFAS in March 2025 as a software engineer. I am now the AI Agents Architect, leading a function I proposed. That is three roles in thirteen months.

I started on Blue Omics, the genomics platform for the UF blueberry breeding program. I joined it at 81 source files. It replaced years of spreadsheet-driven workflows and became the system of record for 30+ researchers across 5 labs. When the previous lead left I took over, rebuilt the backend and frontend, and grew the team from one to three.

The current work runs on university-operated GPUs, so sensitive research data stays on institutional infrastructure. Generation runs on the shared gateway. Retrieval and reranking stay on lab hardware, because I benchmarked both and local won. Retrieval covers 10,000+ technical documents, and a 24-case regression suite gates every model and pipeline change.

Outside the job I reproduce new model research on my own hardware. That is where most of the writing and the merged pull requests come from. I publish the results either way, including the times my own claim was the thing that broke.

I studied computer science at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology, came to Florida as an exchange student, and stayed for a master's at UF. I live in Gainesville.
